Olivia Burton, 23, moves to California with her boyfriend Francis Morales, 24, against the wishes of her relatives. Francis’ mother Lilian is a devout Catholic who does not approve of her son’s cohabitation and expresses her feelings in the form of cruel postcards on religious topics. Despite these objections, the young lovers begin a new, exciting life together. However, their happiness is interrupted when Francis is physically and mentally injured by a freak accident. Soon he begins to suffer from nightmares – he whispers in his sleep to a figure that Olivia does not see and walks through strange corners of the house in his sleep. These episodes frighten Olivia and also suggest that Francis may be hiding something from her. Their investigation leads to a terrible and perverse discovery: they are haunted by the ghost of the child priest Francis, a being who is angry at their cohabitation and has come to punish them for their sins.
